Long ago and far away...........

My son met a girl at school. He told me about her one day and I will always remember how he described her.

There's this girl at school named Maggie. She's pretty, inside and out. She stands up for what she believes in. She's awesome.

Justin and Maggie started spending time together and he asked her to prom. (With a little help from his big sister.)

She said yes. And they went to prom as Beauty and the Beast.

And that is the beginning of Justin and Maggie. That's when she first started appearing in our family photos, when I was barely pregnant with Miss Lila.

And she stuck around. Here we are having fun after Lila's dedication.

Maggie also became very close with Justin's big sister.

Justin and Maggie both attended college at Eastern University in Pennsylvania and graduated in May. Shortly after that, Justin and Maggie announced that they were engaged. And by "shortly after that" I mean about 3 hours later. At a park with most members of both families present, they made their announcement.

And we took pictures like it was their wedding day.

Justin and Maggie will be married on January 15, 2011. Surrounded by family and friends, they will begin their journey together as a married couple. Oh what a happy day it will be.

As for me, I am making preparations to be a mother-in-law. Praying that I will be a good one. One that offers advice only when asked. One that offers unconditional support. The kind of mother-in-law that doesn't make demands. One that prays without ceasing for her son and his wife. A mother-in-law that Maggie will be proud of.

Congratulations, Justin and Maggie. I love you both!

One proud mama~

Almost Wordless Wednesday...............

I did it. After much consideration, I enrolled Lila in a ballet/tap class. I will share more later, but let me just say.......

She absolutely loved it. She amazes me.

Proud to be her mama~

Love this kid........

It was incredibly hot today. The temperature reading in our car was 104. You know the kind of hot when you step outside from being in the air conditioning you get goose bumps? That's hot, baby. Add high humidity and it's almost unbearable. Add some respiratory issues to the mix and it's time to stay inside.

And stay inside we did.

After lunch Miss Lila and I took a nap, then we made brownies. Lila started summer school yesterday so I thought it would be nice to bring the teachers brownies to show them some love. I have a friend in Texas that loves to cook/bake. She always says that if somebody dies, you make chicken salad. When you want to show appreciation, you bake. "We cook. We bake. We're women. It's what we do." I don't know if that's true or not, but it sounds good coming from her.

Check out my little helper. She "wuv chocwut".

After we finished the brownies we watched Elmo, took an early bath, ate dinner and took silly pajama pictures.

I love hanging out with her- she has such a great imagination and loves to laugh. A good companion she makes.

Blessed to be her mama~
