Thankful Tuesday

I've been doing a lot of soul-searching lately. Digging deep, trying to get rid of the junk and focus on the important things in life. During this time I have been made acutely aware of the fact that I have a great life and so much to be thankful for. Our family encounters little bumps in the road, but who doesn't? We all have a choice. To focus on the positive or to focus on the negative. I am working on making a conscious choice to focus on the positive. The good stuff. And it's all around us.

Today I decided to make a list of things I am thankful for. Here and now. And the list of "things" turned out to be a list of "people". The list started getting a bit long, so I decided to focus on the top 5. Which, in my case, was pretty easy.

# 1. My amazing husband. I am so thankful to be married to a great guy who puts his family first. A guy who pays attention to all of the little details in life.

# 2. My firstborn, Tiffani. Who is not only my daughter but my friend. Here she is, soaking up life in the beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming. (Where I shall be next week. Woot!) Her next adventure? Moving to Texas. My little girl is all grown up!

# 3 & 4. My son Justin and his beautiful fiance, Maggie. I am so proud of them for the steps they are taking and the decisions they are making. It is awesome to watch them grow together.

# 5. Miss Lila. The fun-loving, vivacious little girl. The glue that joined our "mixed" family and helped us to grow together. She is a gift.

She loves to learn. It's hard to get anything else done because she is such a little sponge, and so fun to work with!

She loves to play. Here she is laying down on the floor when I was trying to get a picture of her yesterday. (In the fabulous new vest I picked up at a thrift store!)

Every day is an opportunity to make a new happy ending. ~Author Unknown

What are you thankful for today?

  1. You! I love you Mom. Thanks for always teaching by the way you live, and reminding us to focus on things that really matter. I'd say that you're the number one thing for me to be thankful for.

    Love you. See you soon.
