We are on our second full day of living in Colorado and we are loving it! OK, so I admit that we are still in the honeymoon stage. We currently have no school, no work, no therapy sessions, no early intervention. Nothing. That means we have been doing a whole lot of relaxing. Just what the doctor ordered after the stress of moving. ( A bit of free advice: don't move during the holidays. It's really not a good idea. Just my opinion.)
It is beautiful here, and that has helped soften the blow of adjusting to the huge difference in altitude-Ashburn, VA is 274 feet above sea level and Colorado Springs is 6,035 feet above sea level. Not to mention that we changed from Eastern to Mountain time!
We rang in the new year by watching the fireworks that were set off at the top of Pikes Peak from the front porch of our rental house. I don't have any pictures but trust me, it was awesome!
Happy New Year Everyone!
(Pardon the dirty faces)
Hugs and Kisses from Colorado!
It's a new year, a new location, a new beginning. Unfortunately, the thing about a new beginning is that it requires something else to end. A post about saying goodbye to our loved ones in Virginia coming soon.
Until then, I hope the start of this new year brings amazing new beginnings for you and yours.
Hugs~
Linda
Happy to hear you are getting some rest! Miss you all.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Colorado, Linda!!! I am just up the road in Castle Rock (southern suburb of Denver). I have been following your family for a while......now that you are close by, would love to get to know you guys!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are getting some rest and loving life. And you have such beautiful daughters to do it with!
ReplyDeleteHope your cooking adjustments go well. That was a big frustration when I was first learning about high altitude. Couldn't believe how long it took just to boil water.
Welcome to my time zone!
Changes and new beginnings, bring many blessings and,I am certain new adventures and wonderful, joy filled memories are on the horizon for you and your beautiful, beautiful family!
ReplyDeleteI just told my husband, lets move to Colorado. I seriously would love to be there. I am a bit jealous1
