12 Days of Giving- Day 9

Yeah, yeah, I know. The 12 Days of Giving have come and gone. But I have pictures I want to share! Taken with my very own "point and shoot". (That was for you, Bethany)

Seriously, though, the 12 Days of Giving was such a fabulous idea and I loved participating. Good for my soul, it was.

Day 9 was all about giving to a Head Start family. Our women's club adopted a family that consisted of a woman and her 3 children. To qualify for Head Start, a family of 4 cannot earn more than $22,000 a year.

The response from our club was amazing. I had the pleasure of collecting the gifts and taking them to the Head Start office.

(Are you wondering how many "car pictures" I will post? I tried to change it up a little this time.)

When I arrived at the Head Start office, I was greeted by the nicest people. Thank goodness, because they helped me carry all of the gifts down the long hallway to their office. They were so excited about all of the presents~ wrapped and tagged by the members of our club.

One of the women walked me back to my car. She asked me to pass along a huge thank you to the women in our club. She told me that we had seriously made an impact on the family we had adopted. She said, "You don't even know what you have done for this family." I couldn't even respond to her because I was all choked up. She saw my tears, and said, "Well, maybe you do." I told her that I was aware, and so happy to be a part of it.

She tried to shake my hand, and I hugged her instead.

She said, "Hopefully we will see you next year!"

I'm pretty sure she will.

Hugs~

Linda

  1. Ha! This time I hadn't put my face on yet. No running make up.

Yeah, you know what you have done for that family. I'm so thankful things are different for you now.

    I love you!
